About
The Foundation for Seminole State College is dedicated to changing lives by supporting the students, programs, and future of Seminole State College. Through scholarships, program funding, and community partnerships, the Foundation helps remove financial barriers that can stand in the way of student success. Many students face challenges balancing work and educational expenses, and the Foundation works to provide the support they need to continue their education and achieve their goals.
Established in 1968 at the request of the College’s first president, Dr. Earl Weldon, the Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization guided by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of respected business and civic leaders from the community. Their leadership and dedication help foster strong partnerships that benefit both students and the region.
Generous support from alumni, businesses, organizations, faculty, staff, and community members throughout Central Florida allows the Foundation to fund scholarships, endowed teaching chairs, and faculty and staff mini-grants that enhance learning opportunities at the College. Signature fundraising events such as the Dream Gala and the Dream Cup Challenge Golf Tournament help generate vital resources that support Seminole State’s mission.
Through philanthropic giving and meaningful partnerships, the Foundation continues to expand educational access, strengthen programs, and empower students to succeed while making a lasting impact across the community.
