Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
On the longest day of the year, stop on by the Zoo to spend time with the world’s tallest land animals, as we celebrate the third annual World Giraffe Day. This worldwide celebration of these amazing and much loved animals hopes to raise awareness and shed light on the challenges giraffes face in the wild. By supporting World Giraffe Day you can help to support giraffe conservation efforts in the wild that will ultimately help secure the future of these remarkable animals in Africa. With fewer than 80,000 giraffe remaining in the wild, the time is right to act NOW!  Enjoy games, crafts, a chance to get face-to-face with a giraffe at the Zoo through our Giraffe Feeding Experience, and even get a behind-the-scenes tour led by one of our amazing giraffe keepers. This event is included in general Zoo admission; additional fees may apply for certain activities.
